AOL to release Vista-compatible AIM 6.1

Time Warner’s internet division AOL has said that they are due to release their new Vista-compatible AIM 6.1. This application would be available for download later this week.

It would come loaded with new functionalities. Users would be able to send messages to offline members through IM and SMS.

Users would be able to setup which members on their buddy list can send them text messages on their mobile devices.

Users on the Vista operating system would get extra personalization facilities. They would be able to change the color of their buddy list and other instant messaging window elements. They would also be able to attach their buddy list to either side of their desktop.

Overall, it is going to be an exciting update for AOL instant messenger users especially for those who have updated their computers to the Vista operating system.
