Mozilla Firefox gaining market share
Mozilla’s Firefox Web browser has reportedly gained some market share. This gain has come at the expense of Microsoft Internet Explorer which continues to lose market share.
Firefox now accounts for 10.7 percent share on computers running Microsoft’s Windows operating system.
This is an improvement from 9.84 percent seven weeks earlier. IE’s market share has gone down to 88.2 percent, from 89.1 percent.
Firefox is not alone. Opera Browser and Safari has also gained some market share in this segment.
WebSideStory came out with these results in a research report. They also added that Internet Explorer 7 is being adopted by users at an increasing pace. This updated browser release had 16.3 percent of overall U.S. browser usage as of Dec. 7.
