Mozilla delivers alpha release of Firefox 3
People might have just started to use the recently launched Firefox 2 browser; the developers are already working on the next major release of the popular open source web browser Mozilla Firefox 3.0.
Mozilla has now released the first alpha release of Firefox 3.0 and this would give the developers and web users a chance to see what is in store for the future releases of this popular application.
The developers however cautioned that this release is not intended for regular users. This alpha release has been named Gran Paradiso and has been in development for around a year.
Mozilla aims to launch the final version of Firefox 3 by the end of next year and they believe it would be a major step toward making Web applications indistinguishable from programs that are installed on the desktop.
It brings better support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) language and the Canvas specification. It also supports the Cairo graphics library.
