Mozilla Firefox 1.5 to arrive today?
We have already seen a couple of false alarms regarding this much-awaited launch of the next major release of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. A leading community site announced the launch a couple of days back but ended up apologizing for the false alert. However, today should be day when Mozilla Firefox 1.5 comes out in the public in its final release.
Mozilla Foundation has issued a release in the media about the Tuesday launch of the Mozilla Firefox 1.5. Firefox 1.5 will be available for free on Tuesday afternoon, U.S. Pacific Standard Time, at www.getfirefox.com and www.mozilla.com. The open source organization is also expected to release a press statement highlighting the new features in Firefox 1.5, as well as some additional Mozilla news.
Some of the new features in this major update include support for Web standards, adding support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), JavaScript 1.6 and new versions of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). In addition, the latest update would also handle popups in a more efficient manner. Mozilla is also adding an auto-update facility in this upgrade, which would make it easier for users to stay up-to-date to the latest browser release.
