Opera and Mozilla releases updated Browser Versions
Recent days have seen the market share of the most popular browser around Internet Explorer taking a minor hit. Firefox has seen millions of downloads and a rapidly increasing market base. Opera continues to rock amongst their loyal user base with regular updates to their browser. And recent reports related to Internationalized Domain Names have led to updated versions released by both the browser developers.
Reports like these on The Register practically made fun of the steps taken by the Mozilla Foundation in the recent days. With these updates, Mozilla Foundation has settled on a temporary workaround where International Domain Names are displayed by Firefox 1.0.1 as “punycode” by default so that spoofed websites are easier to spot. While the Opera browser in their latest Beta (Opera 8 Beta 2) comes with the white listing of top-level domains that have implemented anti-homographic character policies.
Firefox developers like in the past are recommending the users to delete the old version first before upgrading to the latest security update. The latest version of this updated browser can be downloaded from the Mozilla Foundation website. Opera’s Beta is also available online freely for download.
Some other major changes in the updated release of Opera 8 Beta 2 are support for Atom Feed (Google GMail and Blogger Blogs use this format for RSS Syndication) and many other bug fixes. Google fans would be rejoiced that GMail, Google Maps, and Google Suggest all work fine with Opera now.

Why settle for something less.Admittedly Firefox is slightly better than Internet Explorer.Does that make it any good across the platforms anywhere else?Opera,by its own claims is the fastest browser on earth.I didnt believe that till the time I checked it out myself.It takes a little time getting used to.But heck,Windows has supposedly brainwashed most of the users.It does take time to learn something anew.But once you get used to the rocking mouse gestures or the inbuilt IRC newsgroups feeds etal..there is no going back.Indeed,Opera is light years ahead of anything.The biggest plus factor here is the support in the forums.Pop up any question about it and there would be always someone to answer that.NO doubt about it.3 cheers to Opera and the guys behind it.
