AOL to launch Total Care security application package

Time Warner’s internet division AOL has announced that they are entering the security application market by launching their own software bundle, which would now be marketed to public and not just their own subscribers.

This software offering would be called AOL Total Care and it would soon be available for beta testing to software testers in the coming weeks.

It would include both security and PC care features making it a potential challenger to Microsoft Live OneCare, McAfee Falcon and Norton 360.

AOL Total Care would mark the entry of AOL in this highly competitive field and would be a change from their current market of providing internet services and online services.

They have been testing out a security tool named Active Security Monitor, which monitors the security status of a computer and offers guidance on improving protection.
