McAfee Falcon: Security Subscription Service from McAfee
Microsoft has already launched their subscription based security application suite in the market. Symantec are in the process of launching their Genesis all-in-one security application suite. Now, McAfee has announced that they are working on a similar package codenamed Falcon.
McAfee would be launching a completely redesigned version of its subscription-based security suite this summer. The company claims that it has been under development since a year and would soon be available as a beta in a couple of weeks.
Impressively, McAfee is one of the only players to have been offering a subscription-based security suite for years. Microsoft made it big with the launch of their Windows OneCare Live service, which has been under beta testing since many months now.
McAfee claims that one of the Falcon project’s aims is to make security as simple and unobtrusive as possible for the average user. Interestingly, after so many years in the industry, they are yet to reach a stage where they can develop software, which are simple and unobtrusive!
