Red Hat fixes multiple flaws in products and Linux Kernel

Linux market giants Red Hat has issued a security advisory for a number of its products. They have addressed a couple of issues related to Linux Kernel in their operating system product.

They have also released updated kernel packages, which fixes 16 individual flaws present in the version 4.0 releases of its Red Hat Desktop and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS software.

Red Hat has advised all their customers to upgrade their kernels to protect themselves from the security issues. A majority of these fixes are for problems labeled important.

Some of these issues are present in the software’s IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) implementation. The flaw could have resulted in a launch of denial-of-service attacks on machines running the affected products.

Market researchers have shown that Linux based server systems are being attacked more in the recent times due to their massive popularity in the market. This makes it important for the corporations to keep the software products updated and fix bugs.

Market has also seen some proof of concept code, which could affect both Windows and Linux platform. Red Hat has shown that they take security of their product seriously and are setting an example by staying ahead of hackers.
