Topix.net collaborates with The Associated Press
Internet has become the primary source of news for millions of users around the world. And this has resulted in many old fashioned and new generation of news services to collaborate to work together and benefit from each other’s expertise.
The latest such deal has been signed on between Topix.net and The Associated Press. These two groups are teaming up in an attempt to send more visitors to newspaper sites which brings breaking stories on the internet to the web users.
This collaboration would run for 15 months and would see AP identifying stories that local papers contribute to the news cooperative to Topix.net. This would help Topix.net to bring new original content to the internet.
Tom Curley, the AP’s president and chief executive said in a statement on this new initiative: “AP and its members need to be actively engaged with the changing dynamics of the Internet.â€
