Neer is a new location based service that is designed for closed group of people
Neer is similar to services like Foursquare in nature but it is designed to be used by a closed group of people.
The idea is simple. You mark some places that are relevant to you (Work, Home and so on).

The app runs in the background and updates your location automatically.
The people you have selected can then check where you are at any given point of time. The location data is not made public. It is only visible to folks you have selected.
The company spoke about the concept:
Neer is for those times when you’ve wanted to know…
“Has my spouse left work yet?”
“Who’s around for lunch?”
“Is now a good time to call?”With Neer… now you know
Neer allows you to privately and automatically share your location with the people you care about. Not everywhere you go, just the places that really matter.
Neer is only available for US and Canada based users only. They are currently supporting Google Android devices. Support for other devices is coming soon.
