Automattic launches their own Like button powered by Gravatar
Automattic has announced the launch of their own Like button that is powered by their Gravatar service.
It is now available for the users on WordPress.com.
Bloggers on WordPress.com can now enable this feature. Visitors would be able to like the posts on blogs they mmm like!
Automattic spoke about this functionality:
When you “like” a post two core things happen. First, the blog post’s author sees your “like” and can click-through to your Gravatar profile. Second, clicking “like” saves the post in your homepage dashboard (in the “Posts I Like” section), so you can share it with others, or just keep it around for future reference.
The concept is simple… You can see how popular your own post is. And you can sort of bookmark other posts you like! All without requiring any connection with Facebook.
This is a great new development. We expect this feature to be available to users of WordPress.org and other blogging platforms soon enough.
