Apple updates Mac OS X, QuickTime 7.1, and Front Row
Just a couple of days after the monthly release of patches from Microsoft, we now have a similar round of security updates from Apple Computers.
The iPod maker has released Security Update 2006-003, which fixes vulnerabilities in Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. They have also issued updates for other popular applications like the QuickTime and Front Row.
Apple has also fixed the issues with Apple’s Safari Web browser running in Mac OS X 10.4, which caused security troubles for the end user. The fixes also include two updates for the Apple Mail client.
This patch release also brings the new Flash Player 8.0.24.0 which fixes many critical vulnerabilities that may lead to arbitrary code execution when specially-crafted files.
Apple also released QuickTime 7.1, an update which brings numerous important bug fixes and addresses critical security issues.
Overall an important update for the Apple Macintosh owners. Go update!
