Apple Shake to come to Intel platform
Apple Computers is continuing with their efforts to move more applications to the native Intel based platform for the users of Apple Computers.
The latest product under development is the Apple’s high-end digital compositing software Shake. Apple Shake is expected to get a major upgrade in the next few weeks.
The company has confirmed that Shake 4.1 will ship in May and feature support for Apple’s Intel Macs. Apple representatives were addressing the media and Apple fans at the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kirk Paulsen, Apple’s Senior Director Pro Applications Marketing went ahead and demonstrated a copy of Apple Shake running on an Intel Duo Core iMac. The earlier iterations of iMac were not powerful enough to run Apple Shake and the company admitted that.
Paulsen added that the processor speeds are no longer relevant with the capabilities of new generation processors being used by Apple today. Users now need faster and more capable hard drives to support these software applications.
