Patch for Windows has issues with Hewlett-Packard applications
World’s largest software company Microsoft has confirmed that one of the recently released patches for the Windows OS can cause trouble on computers running certain Hewlett-Packard photo-sharing software.
In addition, the upgrades are also said to be causing problems on computers running the Kerio firewall application. The culprit patch is MS06-015 patch and it fixed a vulnerability in Windows Explorer.
According to the statement issued by the company, this software patch can cause problems for users of HP printers, scanners, and digital cameras. Some of the reported issues include non-access to special folders like “My Documents” and “My Pictures†and unresponsive Office applications.
Microsoft added that the problem occurs due to HP’s “share-to-Web” software and the Kerio firewall interfere with a new file, verclsid.exe which is delivered by this update.
