Sharepod 2.0 for Apple iPod is out
Jeffrey Harris has finally released the second version of his popular utility for Apple iPod owners. The second version of Sharepod application is out and is available for download. This application helps the user to copy mp3/aac/mp4 files from iPod to PC.
Most other applications like “iPod Access”, “CopyPod” or “Anapod Explorer” which does this task are not free. The developer of course won’t mind if you donate some money for the cause. The software is available from this website.
Users can download this application and unzip the contents directly into their iPod after enabling disk use. No installation is required on the Windows OS powered computer as they can run it directly from the Apple iPod device.
This makes this utility very helpful in case of the owner connects his iPod to a third party computer, which lacks the proper application to enable iPod connectivity. Sharepod also comes with a built in media player, thus making it easier for listening to the songs on a computer without installing any other application.
Changelog for Sharepod Version 2:
* AAC, MP4, M4A, M4B file import! The most requested feature for SharePod has finally been implemented! Now you can copy these file types straight to the iPod without converting
to MP3 first.
* Random play mode in the Media Player.
* Winamp-type song progress bar in the Media Player. Use it to jump to a point in a song.
* Smart Playlist preservation. Previous versions of SharePod converted iTunes Smart Playlists into standard playlists. Version 2.0+ keeps them as Smart Playlists
