Windows Vista to require authentication to allow Aero based User Interface
Microsoft Windows Vista is going to come with plenty of graphical enhancements, which would allow the user interface to have features like translucent windows, animated flips between open programs and “live icons” that show a graphical representation of the file in question.
These enhancements are part of the Aero technology, which is a part of this upcoming operating system update from the company. However, Microsoft has said that not everyone would get to use this feature.
Apart from having very high hardware requirement, this feature would require the user to authenticate his Windows OS installation. The company said in a statement that it would run a check to make sure the software was properly purchased. A Microsoft representative said in a statement: “Those who are not running genuine Windows will not be able to take advantage of the Windows Aero user experience.â€
In addition, this update would also not be a part of the Windows Vista Basic variant, which is primarily aimed at budget consumers and developing markets. Interestingly, the company has yet not revealed the final hardware requirements for Vista itself.
Microsoft Windows Vista is scheduled to ship in January next year after suffering massive delays in its development process.
