Microsoft releases preview of its Atlas framework
Microsoft has just released their latest prerelease of its Atlas application-development framework. This update brings a toolkit that offers pre-coded functionality for an assortment of common UI elements. This would allow the developers to use pre-developed UI elements like drop-down boxes and collapsible show/hide panels.
This updated release is part of their commitment to continue releasing new Web developer-tools. Microsoft has spoken about this at their Mix06 conference last month. This product is expected to become a part of the upcoming versions of Visual Studio and is Microsoft’s solution for implementing newer technologies like AJAX in web applications.
They continue to release community technology preview builds of this application every few weeks for feedback from the developing community. The company also recently made available the first release candidate of Web Application Projects. This one is a Web project model that is available as an alternative to the one built into Visual Studio 2005.
