Microsoft plans to change it all with Internet Explorer 9
Microsoft has some great news for all the web developers out there.
The company talked about the next edition of Internet Explorer at their Mix event.
Internet Explorer 9 would change the way developers looked at this web browser.
Microsoft said that IE9 would add support for some of the most wanted HTML5 features.
It would support h.264 video, embedded audio, SVG and CSS3.
The company also plans to include a brand new JavaScript engine which they said would make it fast enough to compete against the new generation of web browsers.
Internet Explorer 9 would also add 2D acceleration to the web browser. Microsoft plans to add DirectX video acceleration for SVG graphics and text rendering.
And well, the biggest news is that this version of Internet Explorer is unlikely to work with Windows XP.
Microsoft is finally looking towards the future!
