Novell reveals details on SUSE Linux 11

Novell has just launched their SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 to the retail market and they have already provided some details on the next version codenamed SuSE Linux 11. Novell has said that the next update to their Linux based operating system would ship in 2008.

It would include their “Beagle” search engine and virtualized server and storage features. SLES 11 would also be offering virtualization for servers and storage, enhanced security via support for AppArmor’s profile management and CIM, a compiler and run-time, and identity management and provisioning.

For client side users, the updated operating system would incorporate the company’s “Beagle” search engine, integrated wireless support, a thin client, enhanced power management, and better driver delivery engine. Novell also claimed that this updated Distro would integrate better into mixed environments.

The company would soon be shipping the SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 this coming summer.
