Google Desktop out of beta with a new quick search feature
Search engine giants Google have finally announced that their desktop searching application Google Desktop is finally out of beta. Google has also added a new helpful feature to this application. Users can press their control key two times to get access to the search box in the middle of their screen, which is very helpful for making quick searches.
Google guys posted this on their Blog:
It’s very accessible — all you have to do is press your Ctrl key twice. After some experimentation, people are telling us they like it and use it. That’s why we’re adding it to Google Desktop (coming out of beta today).
This tool has become a topic of controversies in the recent times with Google added a feature in this update enabling people to upload their desktop index to Google’s servers for access from another location.
