Twitter Geotagging API is now available

Twitter has announced that they have turned on their Geotagging API.

This new feature is currently accessible only through the API for now.

You would not be able to tweet using your geolocation through the website.

Twitter said in a blog post:

Twitter applications like Birdfeed, Seesmic Web, Foursquare, Gowalla, Twidroid, Twittelator Pro and others are already supporting this new functionality (go try them out now!) in interesting ways that include geotagging your tweets and displaying the location from where a tweet was posted.
