LinkedIn is getting a visual makeover

LinkedIn has revealed that they are working on a new design for their website which would further improve the usability of the service.

This new design is currently being tested and should go live in the coming weeks.

The service is used by more than 50 million professionals around the world and has some hardcore loyalists who use it for business networking.

The testing is being done with a random number of users.

LinkedIn highlighted the changes in a blog post:

A global navigation bar at the top of the page that provides convenient access to all LinkedIn services.
Simplified local navigation within each of the LinkedIn areas (Profile, Contacts, Groups, etc.).
More room available for page content. Less scrolling.
A cleaner, less-cluttered look.
