Microsoft explains when a Windows 7 Upgrade is an Upgrade
A couple of online resources are highlighting hacks which enable a user to install Windows 7 Upgrade copy on a fresh hard disk.
This means that the user is no longer required to have an installed edition of a previous version of Windows to use the Upgrade copy.
This however also makes it possible for users to buy the Upgrade edition of Windows 7 and install it without paying for a full license which is more expensive.
Microsoft SMB Channel Community has a new blog post which highlights this and explains on when a Windows 7 Upgrade is an Upgrade.
Checkout: Regardless of what any hack says, a Windows 7 Upgrade is an Upgrade. What you need to know.
