Los Angeles City Council switches to Google Apps!

More good news for Google as the city of Los Angeles has now decided to shift to Google Apps from Microsoft powered solutions.

This deal is worth around USD 7.2 million.

This contract is however tentative as the provider of the service Computer Sciences would have to pay in case there is a security breach.

Security was the primary cause of concern for the city council to shift to Google powered solutions.

Google has been suffering from problems with their hosted services but they have managed to do a good job with the premium customers which comes with a service up-time guarantee.

Google Apps Premium Edition usually costs around USD 50 per user per year.
