Symantec on mobile security platform
The makers of popular security applications for the computing market, Symantec has said in a statement that the mobile service providers and corporations have taken on the initiative to install security shields on their networks.
However, to get the consumers to get serious about their devices from such security hazard would still take sometime. Sarah Hicks, vice president for strategy said in a statement about the mobile security platform: “In enterprises, this is starting to happen now, but in consumer side I would not expect a large uptake at least for a year.â€
Symantec also said that they are benefiting from increasing awareness in the corporate users on protecting their mobile networks and are gaining new customers. The technology is becoming more popular and is being increasingly targeted by the developers of malicious codes and viruses for this platform.
This might be good news for the security applications maker but the consumers are the biggest sufferers who would now have to install antivirus applications on their PDA devices!
