Mark Shuttleworth: Windows 7 for netbooks is not worth the price
Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth who is the man behind the Ubuntu Linux distribution has stated that Windows 7 Starter Edition which is designed for netbooks is not worth the price.
It is crippled and still pricey for what it offers.
Canonical is all set to launch the latest edition of Ubuntu later this week. Ubuntu 9.10 is a solid release that comes with some new features.
Windows 7 Starter Edition is pretty crippled compared to other editions. Wikipedia has the details.
Ubuntu has a special edition for netbooks named Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix. Shuttleworth said that they are supporting around 25 netbook models available in the market with this release.
Ubuntu 9.10 would also include Ubuntu One product which provides 2GB free online storage to all Ubuntu users. They can pay USD 10 a month to get 50GB storage.

Windows 7 for netbooks is not worth the price
In my opinion Windows 7 is even not worth the price for PC’s.
This from a person who uses it on a daily basis and am not an IT guy.
