Google breaks Orkut friend export feature once again!
Armchair Founder has revealed that Google has once again made the Orkut friend export feature useless.
The export file no longer contains the email addresses of your friends so it becomes useless if you want to import it on a competing network like Facebook.
The problem started when Facebook started informing their users that they can easily add contacts from Orkut by using the export file generated by the service.
Google ‘accidentally’ disabled that functionality at that time only to restore it after user complaints.

The feature has now been enhanced to allow users to pick the fields which are exported and email address is not included in that range! Without email addresses, Facebook cannot search for your contacts on their own network!
This is a big disappointment considering Google has been highlighting their Data Liberation Front initiative which is designed to make it easier for the users to own their data.

Does FaceBook allow export of contacts? I do't think so? Why not?
