Opera Desktop Widgets can now run as independent applications!
Opera Software has announced Opera Widgets for desktop which can now run independently.
Users would still be required to have Opera Browser installed on their machines. But these widgets can run without running the browser itself.
In fact, Widgets can now function as fully featured applications that run as their own processes.
The current version of this new platform is essentially a technology preview. They are looking for developers to code and testers to play with it.
