Microsoft Security Essentials launch is a success
Microsoft has reported that around 1.5 million people downloaded their recently launched Security Essentials security application in the first week after the launch.
This product is being offered for free and provides basic protection on the Windows platform.
It works with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Microsoft added in a blog post that majority of the current users are on Windows 7. Windows XP is the second most popular platform.
However, Windows XP users have reported the maximum malware detection followed by Vista users.
