Google Editions: Google Book Store coming next year

Google has revealed that they would launch their own eBook store sometime next year.

This new store would be called Google Editions.

They are aiming to launch with around 500,000 available titles from a variety of publishers.

The aim is to provide a store which can cater to a wide variety of platforms including desktop computers.

The company said that this store would be different from their Google Book Search project.

Google would share the revenues generated from sales with the publishers. Google would keep 37% of the revenues.

Microsoft has stated that they currently have no intentions to join this market. Amazon and Barnes & Noble are already major players in this segment.
