Yahoo closing down Geocities on October 26
US based internet media giant Yahoo has given its final warning to the users who are still hosting their web pages on Geocities web service.
The company has warned them that the service would shut down on October 26 this month.
This is one of the many web services Yahoo has shut down in the recent times as they are focusing on their profitable ventures.
Yahoo is offering some alternatives to users who are hosting on Geocities:
Moving to Yahoo Web Hosting: This is of course a paid service.
Download the content on your computer: Duh! Of course. Too bad they are not offering migration to a free service like Google Sites.
Checkout: Geocities
