Microsoft already facing Vista related protests
Software giants Microsoft is already stuck in many lawsuits related to unfair trade practices in Europe. And they are also scheduled to come out with the latest version of Windows Operating System later this year. Windows Vista is expected to come with more integrated solutions with better firewall, RSS support and more.
And along with fears that the latest version would be hard to be customized, the company is now facing complaints from the PC manufacturers. The European Commission has said that they are monitoring related to the upcoming Windows Vista operating system. However, they have not yet started a formal protest.
Philip Lowe, the top civil servant in the commission’s competition department confirmed while making a statement: “Approaches are being made about Vista by U.S. and non-U.S. companies.â€
Microsoft on their part has said that they are pretty confident that the upcoming update to their operating system releases would not infringe on any U.S. antitrust settlement agreement.
