Gmail highlighting favicons of some services in emails!
TechCrunch has reported that Google Gmail webmail service is now highlighting emails from certain services with the relevant favicon!
The report said that Netflix is one company that is being covered by this new service. There might be others.
If this is expanded to other services, it could become a very useful features for the users of Gmail as it would help identifying mails from these services.
Gmail already has an optional feature that highlights email from eBay and Paypal (Authentication icon for verified senders).
Update:
Gmail Help Document explains this new feature…
It’s called ‘Sponsored mail with enhanced content‘
If you’re subscribed to receive email from certain senders, the messages you receive from them will be enhanced with an interactive gadget that has up-to-date content from their website (you’ll also see an icon in your inbox identifying these messages).
