Ookla has Pingtest.net for testing network quality

Ookla is already well known for their Speedtest.net web service which enables you to check your internet connectivity speeds by connecting to various servers located around the world.

The company now has a new service named Pingtest.net which does something similar.

Pingtest.net performs three tests to determine the quality of your network by pinging it to different servers around the world.

These three tests are:

Packet Loss
The percentage of packets sent to a server that never arrive

Ping
The time it takes for a packet to travel from your computer to a server and back

Jitter
The variance in ping measurements where zero means all were the same
