IBM LotusLive iNotes takes on Google with a basic email service for companies
IBM has announced their hosted email service IBM LotusLive iNotes that would cost companies around $36 annually per worker.
The main rival in this segment of the market is Google which offers the premier version of Google Apps for $50 per year per worker.
Google’s offer is much more enticing at a slightly higher price.
Each user gets 25GB storage space compared to just 1GB from IBM. Google Apps also has tons of other web apps that are missing from the IBM offering.

Features of the IBM offering:
All Plans Include
Webmail, contacts and calendaring
1GB of storage per user
Access via Webmail, POP3, IMAP and authenticated SMTP
Support for mobile devices via IMAP IDLE
Built in spam and virus protection
Easy-to-use administration tools
24×7x365 monitoring
Add-ons
100 GBs of additional storage can be purchased on a subscription basis and allocated as needed.
IBM on their part claims that LotusLive iNotes would entice the business customers because of the brand name and the history.
