Twitter gets $100 million in new funding

Industry analysts might still worry about whether Twitter would ever be able to make enough money (it is making none at the moment) but the service remains popular with investors.

Twitter has managed to get another $100 million in its latest round of funding.

Investors include five firms including T. Rowe Price and Insight Venture Partners.

The reports in the media claim that this latest round puts the value of Twitter at around USD 1 billion.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has mentioned it several times that they are considering several ways of generating revenues from Twitter. Putting ads on the user’s streams is not a priority on that list though.

They are working on adding new features to the service which would appeal to the business customers. These features could be offered for a fee.
