Google Chrome Frame: Get Internet Explorer to run Chrome engine!
Google has launched a new browser plug-in for Internet Explorer.
This new plug-in is a direct attack on the rendering engine of the IE as it replaces it with the Chrome engine!
The aim is to bring the support for new web technologies to the users who are still stuck on Internet Explorer.
They can gain the functionalities without changing the web browser user interface.

It brings to Internet Explorer support for HTML5 technologies in addition to the much faster JavaScript rendering engine.
Google does not aim to promote it heavily but they might highlight it to users who use IE on their services which are optimized to run better on modern browsers.
Here is a video featuring a Google developer detailing Chrome Frame plug-in for Internet Explorer:
As you can see, web developers get the ability to call the Chrome Frame plug-in on pages they need it. Other websites would continue to work as usual.
They just have to include this code into their webpages:
As a Internet Explorer user, you can force open a website in Chrome mode by using a special link like cf:http://mail.google.com/mail/. This link would result in a much faster Gmail experience on Internet Explorer.
Google Chrome Frame is hosted on Google Code and is an open source product.
