HP showcases Skyroom video collaboration technology
More and more personal computer manufacturers are getting into services and software market.
Hewlett Packard is one of them. The company has just displayed their latest technology named Skyroom.
HP Skyroom is a real-time video collaboration service which features a whiteboard tool as well.
The company had talked about such a service earlier this year and now a demonstration was given.
HP said that this new platform enables customers to have a real-time conversation along with data sharing. They would be able to do video conferencing while sharing videos, applications, documents and so on.

Incidentally, this service would compete with Cisco’s WebEx branded services.
HP said that their platform would be sold for $149 and would have no subscription fees. It would also be included as a free offering on some of their desktops and laptops.
