Windows Vista to feature two-way firewall

Microsoft finally would provide a decent firewall solution in their upcoming update to the Windows range of Operating Systems. The company has announced that they are developing a new, highly configurable firewall for its upcoming Windows Vista operating system.

This updated firewall product would give system administrators much greater control over which applications are allowed to run on the systems they manage. Microsoft also added that as per the response received from their beta testers, the new firewall is now “very much on track” to be in the final Vista release late this year.

This new updated firewall would enable two ways managing, as it would let the users control both incoming and outgoing network traffic. As a result, it would let the users have more control over who can access their computer and system administrators can control what applications a particular user can use to access the internet.

It is still to be seen if this new feature would bring in protests from professional firewall application developers in the market.
