YouTube update has some cool features like resume support on long videos

Google updated their YouTube video sharing service earlier this week.

Here are some of the cool features:

1. Google has added a friend suggestion feature which would work similar to Facebook. You would get to see suggestions based on your history of shared video links. They also plan to fetch addresses from Gmail address book in the future.
2. You would now get more data from your subscribed accounts.
3. Trends… YouTube would now display popular trends on their site similarly to Twitter.
4. If you switch to HD mode, you are going to get all future selections in that mode if available.
5. Comments can now be expanded without refreshing the page.
6. YouTube Insight has been made capable with new features.
7. You can now subscribe to Television Shows and Movies sections.

The most interesting feature is the addition of resume support on longer videos. If you stop watching a long video and then come back, YouTube would resume the playback at where you left it! This would currently work only on videos longer than 20 minutes. We hope it is expanded to all videos in the future!
