Bram Cohen now wants to revolutionize p2p live streaming!
TorrentFreak has reported that the creator of bittorrent protocol Bram Cohen is now working on a new technology that would enable faster live streaming using p2p.
Video streaming is gaining popularity on the web but the high costs of bandwidth are a problem for any broadcaster.
Bram Cohen spoke about his plans: “I think there’s a very large market for live [streaming] in general, and to date no one has proven that a p2p solution can meet the real-world requirements for being an acceptable live solution. I intend on changing that.”
Cohen added: “I am fundamentally a technologist, and am simply not interested in working on something which doesn’t solve the fundamental problem it’s supposed to tackle, especially in a market where there have already been so many bad technologies which failed to succeed based on sales and marketing.”
