Microsoft Zune HD apps are ad-supported!

Ars Technica has posted a review of the applications which are now available to the owners of the recently launched Zune HD media player.

Microsoft has developed most of these applications and all of these are available as a free download.

However, some of these applications are loaded with ads that are showcased on runtime.

As a result, user might end up waiting for as long as 10 seconds before he could use the application.

In fact, Ars reported that during their testing the game of chess took as long as 30 seconds to working condition.

Here is a sample booting video of the game Sudoku.

This is going to be very frustrating to the end user. Microsoft could have used an optional paid model for these applications.

Thankfully, the utility apps like calculator and weather do not feature these ads.
