NPD Group: Mac OS X Snow Leopard a major success

NPD Group has reported that Apple is selling Mac OS X Snow Leopard at a much faster rate compared to their previous operating systems.

The report said that Snow Leopard is in fact outselling the original Leopard by a 2-to-1 margin.

Snow Leopard is also outselling the Tiger edition by 4-to-1 margin.

These figures are for the two week period starting from the launch date August 28.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard is a relatively minor upgrade for the Apple users. It refines the experience and most of the changes are in the backend.

The company is charging much less for this update from the users on Leopard edition of Mac OS X.
