Variety to charge for some online content
Variety has announced that they are going to change their policy of providing all of their online content for free.
The publisher said that they would move some of the content and sections behind a subscription based service.
They have been providing their entire online archive for free since a couple of years.
Variety said that the changes are likely to be implemented sometime next year.
The company admitted that they might lose some of their online visitors but the aim is to survive in these tough times.
