Skype founders suing eBay
The original founders of the VoIP Company Skype have filed a lawsuit against the Skype’s current parent company eBay along with the people who are interested in acquiring it. The other parties include Silver Lake, Andreessen Horowitz, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Index Ventures.
The company claims damages that are growing at a rate of $75 million a day.
The founders are now represented by Joltid. They are also asking the courts for an injunction to stop the infringement.
Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom claims that they still own the technology that powers Skype. The lawsuit claims that eBay has released the code to third party companies enabling them to replicate it.
The lawsuit further claims: “Despite Joltid’s demands, Skype has continued to make its application available for download.”
