IBM tell employees to use Symphony over Microsoft Office
Industry reports say that IBM has instructed all their employees to use Symphony office productivity suite over Microsoft Office.
A lot of their employees were already using Symphony but others would have to switch unless they have specific reasons to stick with MS Office.
IBM Symphony is a free suite based on OpenOffice which competes with Microsoft Office in the market.
IBM said that the shift is not aimed to save money for the company but is designed to promote open standards in their offices.
