Microsoft to release series of test releases of Vista
Software giants Microsoft have announced that they are modifying the testing schedule of their upcoming operating system Windows Vista. Instead of releasing a Beta 2 of this product, the company would instead releasing a series of test versions targeting specific audiences looking for feedback from relevant sources.
The company is due to release an update to the current Community Technology Preview program. This is expected to be released sometime in the coming months and would be aimed at the corporations looking towards upgrading to the operating system when it is released later this year.
In addition, Microsoft also has plans to release a customer preview program later this year aimed at consumers who would want to upgrade to Vista later this year. However, it is still not clear on how broad this release would be considering the first beta of the application was limited to a test group of Microsoft beta testers.
However, both these test releases would be using the keyword Beta 2 in their codes. The company also added that they have managed to integrate all the features they wanted to get into the Vista OS and they are now looking towards eradicating the bugs before they can release it in the retail market.
Market experts believe that Microsoft has little time left but could still be on their way to launch the Windows Vista operating system before the end of year to make it in time to ship on PCs sold during the holiday season in the country.
