Rhapsody mobile app approved for Apple App Store

Rhapsody is becoming the second iTunes rival service to appear on the Apple App Store.

Apple had recently approved Spotify.

Rhapsody mobile app would work on both Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

The major difference between Rhapsody and Spotify is that Rhapsody is available in USA.

The mobile application itself is free but the music subscription costs $14.99 a month.

The company is offering a free trial for seven days.

It would provide access to more than 8 million songs. They would be streamed over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

Neil Smith, vice president of business management for Rhapsody America had this to say: “This breaks us out of the non-Apple MP3 player segment and now we can reach the iPod Touch and iPhone audience that was unavailable to us before.”
