WordPress.com adds support for RSS Cloud
Matt Mullenweg has announced the addition of RSS Cloud feature on all the blogs hosted on WordPress.com.
RSS Cloud is a technology that makes RSS work like Twitter updates. Updates are delivered instantaneously.
The aim is to push the updates faster to clients which support this technology.
Matt added that WordPress blogs already ping through Ping-o-Matic but that was not fast enough.
This technology however would require adaption by RSS readers available in the market. River2 is one of the few applications which support it right now.
You can install a plug-in on your hosted WordPress blog if you want to enable this functionality.
