Upgrade your WordPress if you want to prevent hack attempts
WordPress is in news for a security problem. Developers of this popular open source blogging platform fixed the issue last month but still a lot of blogs are being targeted with this old hack.
If you are running a blog using an outdated edition, we suggest you update it to the latest version (2.8.4 right now).

Matt Mullenweg has posted a detailed post on what to do for WordPress users. He says:
A stitch in time saves nine. Upgrading is a known quantity of work, and one that the WordPress community has tried its darndest to make as easy as possible with one-click upgrades. Fixing a hacked blog, on the other hand, is quite hard. Upgrading is taking your vitamins; fixing a hack is open heart surgery. (This is true of cost, as well.)
We suggest take his advice. He knows more about WordPress than any of us!
